I’ve started talking to the pictures on the walls. It gets a little lonely, all these empty rooms. Just watching the hours tick by. Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock.

Well, that’s better.  I totally stayed on plan this week.  It wasn’t easy, but yeah.  I did well and got to the gym every day except Saturday.  And I planned to not go that day anyway.

Em had a birthday party sleepover last Friday with one of her best friends.  It was the birthday girl, Em, Em’s other best friend, and 2 other girls.  Their house has a finished basement and they set up a couple of tents inside.  They had doughnuts and s’mores.  They stayed up until at least 1am.  Probably later.  Em was absolutely useless the next day.  And that’s actually a nice way of saying it.  She was in tears from the moment I showed up.  She was upset because she was the first one to leave and they hadn’t gotten to have breakfast yet.  The mom said to pick them up at 9 and it was actually about 9:15 when I got there.  Not only that, but EVERY other mom pulled up as we got out of the door.  She was in tears most of the day.  She screamed and yelled and threw things.  And accused me of ruining her lift because we finally had to ground her from sleepovers for a month, take away tv/computer for the day, and cancel our plans to see the Muppet movie and go to Six Flags that weekend.  She was raging so much that we couldn’t take her to her soccer game that day either.  And this was the first one they’d actually gotten to have.  I was pissed.  After a night’s sleep she was much improved.  This is the first time this has ever happened.  Yeah, she’s been a bit cranky after a sleepover, but this was beyond insane.  So, no more sleepovers the night before an activity.  Maybe I’m just the mean mom, but even when she has multiples over (which I only allow on her birthday), they’ve still got to go to sleep or I separate them.  I mean, normal sleepovers she gets to stay up until 10 and I’ll usually give them another hour for a birthday one, but 1am!?  Gah!  My girl still needs her sleep.

Monday we took Em to try out her first Leadership class at Taekwondo.  She loved it.  We tried to sign her up that evening, but the front desk person is a little useless right now.  She’s just filling in, so she’s not up to speed on everything.  We ended up officially signing her up the next day.  They get to do more advanced self defense stuff in the Leadership.  They did what they call “ground work.”   They had to take turns lying on the floor and having someone get on top of them and pretend to beat on them.  Then they had to flip them off.  It was hilarious.  The picture is of Em being the attacker.  That boy?  His name’s Alex.  His mom had asked me if Em was going to do Leadership and we’d told her we were going to wait until summer.  She said they’d been asking Alex for a while to do it, but he didn’t want to.  The same day Em came in to give it a shot, he came in to join too.  I’m pretty sure he’s got a crush on Em.  I told Em and she agreed, but says she doesn’t like him.  There’s another boy in the regular classes that has a crush on her too.  I mentioned it to Em and she had nothing to say to Mom.  😛  She’s breaking hearts left and right at TKD.  😛

We’ve got a soccer game tonight.  I was about 99.9% sure that it was going to be cancelled.  The forecast was that it was supposed to rain ALL day.  It rained fairly heavily most of the morning.  So Em was looking forward to doing both Sparring and Forms classes tonight.  But, the game’s still on.  It should be gross and messy.  /sigh

Tomorrow Em’s got TKD pictures.  There was supposed to be a game, but evidently too many people can’t make it because it’s the weekend before Spring Break.  Sunday we’re meeting Chris’s parents and his younger sister, her hubs, and daughter at Mimi’s for brunch.  I spent about 30 minutes combing their menu for something I can eat.  It wasn’t pretty.  It wouldn’t be such a big, except after we’re taking Em to my parents and having dinner with them….ribs.  Ug!  The last time that happened, the ribs took way longer to get ready than they should and we were all starving by the time it was ready to eat.  Not to mention that ribs are in NO WAY low in points.  Unless, you know, you eat one.  Anyway, Em will be at my parent’s house until Tuesday when I go get her.  We don’t really have anything planned for next week.  So, yeah.
