Disney Recap – Day Three- Magic Kingdom

P1020815Magic Kingdom Day!  The busiest of the days!  We woke up at 7 again and did breakfast stuffs in the room before heading to the bus around 8am.  We got to MK as the opening stuff was going on so we only waited a moment before we headed in.  We headed off to Tomorrowland first and did Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Monster’s Inc Laugh Floor and Stitch’s Great Escape.  I was totally called out in Monster’s Inc for being on my phone during the show.  To be fair, it doesn’t change a WHOLE lot.  We skipped over to Adventureland and did the Jungle Cruise.  We skipped this one last time, so I wanted to do it again.  I couldn’t get Weird Al out of my head the entire time!  Em wanted to go through the Swiss Family Treehouse for no apparent reason, so we did that.  Then we did Pirates of the Caribbean.  You’ll be happy to know that no one lost any digits.  We then stopped at Pecos Bill’s for lunch.  I had the BBQ Pork Sandwich, Chris had the Deluxe Cheeseburger, and Em had the regular Cheeseburger.  Em and I did chocolate cake for dessert and Chris did carrot cake.  All were yum.  We enjoyed this meal very much so.

After lunch, we used our Fast Pass for the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.  We loved it!  It was super fun.  Next we headed over to the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room.  I missed it last time and I don’t remember ever seeing it before.  I wasn’t missing much.  At least we didn’t have to wait too long for it.  Next up was Splash Mountain with a Fast Pass.  This was closed the last two times we’d been there so Chris was the only one who’d ridden it before.  It was fine, but I wasn’t anxious to get wet.  Luckily, it wasn’t too bad.  We then headed over to do Big Thunder Mountain.  We rode it first with the wait and then hopped on again using our Fast Pass.  It was great, as usual.  By this time, we were super tired and decided to head back to the hotel for a bit of a rest.  We floated around in the pool for a little while and rested and showered before heading back to MK.

IMG_20140915_191026555_HDRWe were there a little early for our dinner reservation, so we looked to see if anything close had a short wait.  Under the Sea did, so we hopped on that really quickly.  Then it was time for our dinner reservation at Be Our Guest!  Yay!  We were so excited!  We had to wait 10 or so minutes, but I got this awesome shot of Em.  We were shown in and led to our table in the West Wing (My inner fangirl was totally saying, “But the West Wing is strictly forbidden!”)  It was so cool.  The slashed portrait was on the wall and Em noticed that when the super loud thunder sounded, his face changed to the Beast!  There was also the rose off to the side, under glass.  There were tatters of wallpaper and such hanging everywhere and it just looked SO COOL!  The main room was ginormous.  It was snowing outside those windows.  It looked nice and all, but didn’t have the character of the West Wing.  The other room was the Rose Gallery.  It had cool pictures everywhere to see, but still wasn’t as cool as our area.

For dinner, I had a super yum Grilled Strip Steak with garlic-herb butter and pommes frites.  I can’t remember what Chris or Em had.  For dessert, they brought out an awesome dessert cart.  One of us was going to get The Grey Stuff, but it looked like it was just a bit of grey colored icing on top of a brownie.  So I had Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcake, Chris had the Lemon Meringue Cupcake and Em had the Triple Chocolate Cupcake.  Mine was SUPER yum.  Service was very, very slow here, but we enjoyed it and will definitely go back again.  Afterwards, we got out JUST as Wishes was beginning.  We were behind the main castle, but in a unique spot because some of the fireworks were coming from just head of us, but most of them were coming from behind us.  So we kept looking back and forth.  We ended up just hanging out and watching them from there.  It was really cool.  The downside is that we were behind all the Wishes crowd trying to leave.  So, when we got to the bus stop, it was godawful.  Seriously.  I’m not sure who configured them, but they had a giant, wide area that funneled into a super small area and it was just just extremely frustrating and annoying.  It felt like it took forever for us to get back, but we finally did.  It was probably our worst bus ride.  Ug.
